Say hello to Vermentino, a wonderful white variety from Sardinia and Corsica.
We planted “Verm” at our Oakley Road site in 2020, on the chunky limestone soil that is a feature of this vineyard, feeling it would suit the natural vigour and mineral profile of the variety, and we are happy to say it has worked a treat so far!
This first crop was hand-picked, then destemmed and fermented as whole berries on skins before being lightly pressed, and then matured in old oak before a screen filtration and bottling in October. Real natural feel to this wine, we are so happy with it.

Light orange (skin contact) colour, tangerine aroma, toasted spices, aromatic bitters flavours, semolina and ginger, mandarin fruit and citrus peel, then a fine tannin grip, refreshing and quenching.
