We planted Falanghina (fah-lahn-GEE-nah) at our Sand Road vineyard in 2021, on own roots, a small first crop in 2024, then in 2025 it has thrived, producing a beautiful white wine which we are very excited to share with you.
Falanghina is leafy scented, and here on Sand Road it is surrounded by a native creek line of gums and wild grasses. Underlain by siltstone and clay soils, long ripening, for a smooth texture and natural acidity. Three different yeasts, free run solids, full malolactic, oak maturation - it is a complex array to produce this wine. The inspiration for this label flows from this, hand made from a natural source, quite like pottery, and for sharing in daily life.
Expect flavours of yellow peach, zesty lemon, pear tart, macadamia, sea spray. Classy and lithe palate, fine body, lingering freshness and saline, dive in!
Drink with Spaghetti Aglio e Olio – (good!) olive oil, garlic, top with chilli oil or cracked black pepper, fresh parsley, squeeze of lemon and zest, and grated pecorino cheese.
Our 2025 Falanghina received a Silver Medal at 2025 Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show and the 2025 McLaren Vale Wine Show. This is exceptional for such a young wine.
If you believe in embracing diversity and are curious by nature, we think you will love this wine, from our land to your table. Click here to shop our Falanghina.
Cheers, from the Hither & Yon family
