LIGHTER FOOTPRINT 🌱

We pride ourselves on continuous improvement on lowering our environmental footprint. You may have noticed a pure theme in our product, this flows from our 360 degree view on our whole farming system, the reason we get out of bed each day!

✅ Since commencement of our greenhouse gas assessments in 2020, we have reduced our product emissions by 32.4%, in accordance with the GHG protocol.

✅ Starting in the vineyard, all fruit for Hither & Yon is from our Leask family vineyards, which are certified sustainable by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.

✅ We are proud to make our wine at Oliver & Press in McLaren Flat, which is also certified sustainable by Sustainable Winegrowing Australia

✅ We have always bottled at Vinpac McLaren Vale, an ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems Certified facility.

✅ All vineyards, winery and bottling are literally within 7kms of each other! This keeps emissions down and quality control high.

✅ Our bottles are produced in South Australia at Orora, and are lightweight 415g, which is under the maximum weight required to be part of the global Sustainable Wine bottle weight accord. They are also made from 60% recycled glass.

✅ Our caps are provided by Guala Closures produced in Melbourne, from 60% recycled aluminum content, PVDC (Chlorine) free, with a plant based, not synthetic liner.

✅ Our labels are produced in Australia by MCC and Spicers Paper. The label is a textured white woodfree material made from 100% bagasse (by-product of sugar cane), making this material 100% recycled from non-cellulose fibre.

✅ Our cartons are produced in Australia by Visy and FSC certified as a mix of recycled and FSC certified forests.

✅ We store our wine on the vineyard, also with Pallet and Barrel in McLaren Vale. All storage sheds are 100% powered by solar panels and insulated for even better energy efficiency.

✅ Within our business, which includes our office and cellar door, we have also reduced organisation GHG emissions by 38.1%, since 2020, with recycling, renewables and education as a focus here.

🍇When you add in our regenerative agriculture and environmental biodiversity practices, you can be assured that our wines are coming not only from a healthy place but also with sincere purpose, for our earth to your table. Yes, they are delicious as well!

🍷 Enjoy, cheers from the Hither & Yon crew and Leask family.
