Falanghina is a signature variety from Campania (in Southern Italy). It is ideally suited warm maritime environment on our Fleurieu Peninsula home. A late-ripening, natural acidity-driven style with fine skin tannins, fair-bodied, bold and elegant.
We planted Falanghina (fa-lahn-gee-nah) at our Sand Road vineyard in 2021, on own roots and it has thrived, producing a small first crop in 2024. We were going to leave it, drop the bunches and let the vines rest for next year, but every time we tasted the fruit, we could not believe how good it was, so of course, we picked it.
Only 1 barrel, this is our smallest production wine ever, of 25 dozen only. Given the tiny make, we have not done our usual artwork label, just as a cleanskin this year, and we will take feedback on the wine for our artist choice next year. Expect lemon myrtle aroma, white peach, almond, and a zesty citrus tang with our trademark saline, sea spray finish. Limited to 6 bottles per customer only – get in fast! Shop here.
